Memorial Day Weekend

We had such a great Memorial Day Weekend! Morgan and Justin arrived at our apartment Saturday and after catching up for a few minutes, we went to lunch at Old Chicago Pasta and Pizza. The weather was really nice and we opted to eat out on the patio. Halfway into lunch the wind got pretty strong and caught a table's umbrella and carried it about 30 feet away! After lunch we went over to Bishop Park, which is right on the Detroit River and walked along the riverfront for awhile.

Saturday night we attended a going-away party for a couple of our friends who are in the Coast Guard and are being transferred to California this summer. Since we were all dressed up, we took a few family photos at the beginning of the night. The party was fun, we ended up sitting at the unofficial Coast Guard table and later got sucked into a conga line!

Josh had to go into work Sunday so Morgan, Justin and I packed up some lawn chairs and blankets and headed back over to Bishop Park to lounge around in the sun all afternoon by the river. After grabbing lunch in downtown Wyandotte at Jimmy John's, popping in at a Vera Bradley shop and getting splattered by a seagull flying over, we spent 3-4 hours there and ended up getting quite a bit of sun.

When Josh got home Monday morning we headed over to another Coast Guard couple's house for the afternoon and hung out with some other CG friends. The couple lives right on a little lake and Josh, Morgan and Justin rode the jet ski. Josh even got to feed their new baby girl and he did a great job!
